The Akron Zoo closed its doors to new admissions at 12:15 p.m. Monday following a power outage. An equipment failure around 11 a.m. cut power to nearly 900 customers in the area.

Claws “n” Paws wild animal park had to close today because of no power or water. Tree limbs fell onto power lines at the park, luckily no animals were hurt and no structures were damaged.

1. Employees used detailing chemicals and Lysol spray to clean surfaces without proper personal protective equipment. Some employees experienced irritation while working with these chemicals.

1) Not allowing remote work according Michigan Rules even though we have many staff who have the ability to perform their work from home. 2) There have been no extra cleaning procedures implemented for COVID-19 and many of the common areas such as the bathrooms and copier... machines are not being cleaned daily. 3) No gloves or extra PPE were provided to the staff who had to clean and organize a common areas in preparation for new carpeting being installed and most of the staff had to work in close contact (less than 6ft) with each other while performing this task, not allowing for proper social distancing. 4) Not receiving notifications of positive cases, not informing the staff of being exposed to employees who tested positive for COVID-19, most employees find out from other employees.

T8 CCR 3203(a)(4) Mask wearing is not being enforce for guest and employees. T8 CCR 3203(a)(6) Social distancing is not possible at work spaces, break rooms, hallways, cafeteria and bathrooms, Engineering controls(plexiglass) installed in work spaces are not sufficient. Contact tracing and communication to employees regarding positive... cases is not effective. Employees are unable to social distance from guest, many of which are not wearing mask. 7-8000 guest allowed in at a time. There is employee exposure to customers within 6 feet who are in line in the parking lot. Guests are allowed to n t wear mask or face shields due to stating they have a medical reason not to do so, exposing employees who are within 6 feet.
