Strong winds were affecting Maine customers on Wednesday into Thursday, knocking out power to thousands throughout the state. As of 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Central Maine Power was reporting more than 17,000 customers were without power. According to the outage map, currently, the most affected areas are Winthrop and Wayne in Kennebec County, this county has 6,049 customers impacted.
