About 10,000 customers around the Big Island were without power as of shortly after 9:00 a.m., according to Hawaiian Electric's outage map, after two of its turbine units went down this morning. The utility reports 2,978 customers are without power in Upper ʻĀinaloa, Captain Cook to Hōnaunau, and from Kawaihae Road to Lindsey Road in Waimea and Halaʻula Mill Road in North Hawaiʻi. Another 2,403 customers from Mahukona along ʻAkoni Pule Highway to Old Mill Stack Road/Hawi Road/Kapaʻau Road in North Hawaiʻi and Hawaiian Paradise Park/Orchidland in Puna are also without power as of 9:20 a.m.Outage link: www.hawaiianelectric.com/safety-and-outages/power-outages/oahu-outage-map
