Nearly 4,700 Rocky Mount utilities customers lost electric service on Wednesday night. The cause of the outage is believed to be traceable to a substation along Sutton Road. The loss of electric service occurred in parts of both the Edgecombe County and Nash County sides of the city. On the Edgecombe County side of the city, the outage occurred in an area bounded by the extended part of Arlington Street, Vance Street and Old Wilson Road and included areas south of Planters Street, Beschler said. Customers in the Meadowbrook Road area on the Edgecombe County side of the city also were affected, Beschler said.Outage link: rockymountnc.gov/outages-emergencies/
