Reports indicated a loss of power in Cobb County after an electrical fire lit up the night sky and caused neighbors to flee their homes overnight. It happened around 12:30 a.m. in a fenced Cobb EMC substation on County Services near Valor Drive and caused a widespread power outage. According to Cobb County Emergency Management, more than 6,000 customers were out of power at one point in an area just south of Marietta.
