Thousands of power outages have been reported by Cherryland Electric Cooperative and Consumers Energy after a thunderstorm passed through the northwest Michigan-area Thursday afternoon. Consumers Energy reported over 2,000 outages as of 6:45 p.m. Cherryland Electric said in a social media post that they were handling over 2,400 total outages.
