Evergy reported over 1,200 customers without power just south of the Capital City on Thursday morning, September 5. The outages were first reported around 5:00 a.m. in the area surrounding the Shawnee South Community Park. The outage stretched from Southwest 65th Street south to Southwest 77th Street.
