Power outages were reported around metro Atlanta early Monday morning Jan 8. According to Georgia EMC's outage map, as of 5:30 a.m., about 8,600 customers were without power in the metro Atlanta region. The cause for the outages is not clear. Additionally, Georgia Power is reporting an outage in Gwinnett County, with more than 700 customers affected in southwest Lawrenceville's city limits north of Sugarloaf Parkway and then a larger slice south of the city limits to the north of Five Forks Trickum Road.Outage link: georgiaemc.com/page/Outages
