A downed utility pole located near a substation, taken out by a semi-truck that snagged a guide wire, resulted in a power outage for much of the Greenville community on Tuesday. At approximately 10:42 a.m., officers and firefighters with the Greenville Department of Public Safety (GDPS) responded to a property damage accident report on the 500 block of S. Cedar Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered a semi-truck parked in the parking lot of Cedar Crest with power lines and other cables stretched across it and the female driver of the truck still inside.Outage link: www.consumersenergy.com/outagemap
