Authorities say a motor vehicle crash is behind a power outage in Scottsbluff and areas west of the community. According to Scottsbluff Fire Chief Tom Schingle, a power pole was struck by a vehicle on Avenue I. In order for NPPD to make the needed repairs, power has been shut off in the area so work can be completed safely.
