Rancho Palos Verdes issued an evacuation warning for the Portuguese Bend area shortly after 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 31 citing the impending loss of power. Recently, land movement in this area has continued to be recorded at unprecedented rates: as much as a foot a week.
