An unfortunate squirrel and a traffic crash caused power outages to hundreds in two separate incidents Tuesday afternoon.According to AEP spokesman, a squirrel caused havoc at the McMurry University substation, creating an outage for 993 customers in the south-central area of the city around 2:10 p.m. A second outage occurred around 4:50 p.m. at the Shelton Street substation, located near North Third Street.
