According to Middle Tennessee Electric, the Monday afternoon storm that hit Murfreesboro caused over 2,500 customers without power by 2:40 p.m. July 29. Crews restored power to all but 193 metered customers by 4:50 p.m. City street workers cleared most of the downed trees in various parts of the city by 4:30 p.m. Today, Tuesday, July 30 afternoon, there are 2,228 customers without power mostly in the Lebanon area.
