About 8,000 customers across southeast Louisiana were without power Wednesday afternoon, September 11 as Hurricane Francine made its way toward the coast. Nearly 5,000 CLECO Power customers across a stretch running from New Iberia in Iberia Parish over to Morgan City in St. Mary Parish were affected. About 3,300 Entergy customers were without power, mostly in Assumption and Ascension parishes, according to Entergy's outage map. Tuesday night, about 9,000 customers in the Bywater, Marigny, and 7th Ward lost power for about two hours. Entergy said the cause of the outage remained under investigation but early indications were that it was a breaker failure.Entergy: www.etrviewoutage.com/map
