Thousands are still without power across parts of the Midwest Tuesday after dangerously hot conditions Monday afternoon and during the overnight hours when severe storms moved through the region. In the metro area, Cottage Grove and St. Paul Park residents lost power around 3 p.m. Monday, meaning they were without air conditioning during the record-breaking high temperatures. As of 6:17 a.m. Tuesday, Xcel’s electric outage map showed that 3,432 customers are still being affected by outages across Minnesota and Wisconsin, with a greater total of 4,366 customers in the Midwest.Outage link: www.outagemap-xcelenergy.com/outagemap/
