Severe thunderstorms brought strong winds and heavy rain across the South Plains Friday evening. By early Saturday, several thousand power outages were reported around the South Plains, including more than 2,000 Xcel customers impacted and more than 900 through Lubbock Power & Light. The most affected areas in Lubbock were in the north-central and northeast, including portions of downtown and along the Interstate 27 corridor north to the neighborhoods west of Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport.Lubbock Power & Light: electricoutage.ci.lubbock.tx.us/gridvu/
