Severe storm brought major damage and left thousands without power in Hockley County on Wednesday early morning, May 29. According to officials, Power poles and lines are down all over the city. More than 6,000 Xcel Energy customers were without power by 8:00 a.m. The outage map shows also power outages in Tahoka, Lynn County. Lyntegar Electric Coop reported more than 2,000 meters out of service just after 2 a.m., but most of those had been restored by 8:00 a.m.
