Strong thunderstorms that moved through Ocean County on Wednesday afternoon have left more than 22,000 homes without electrical service. The majority of the outages are in Lakewood, where more than 15,700 customers were without power, according to the Jersey Central Power & Light outage map. The Lakewood Scoop reported a transformer fire happened in the township and the outages were causing travel delays.
