Power Outage, Elizabeth City, Pasquotank County, NC, USA

Elizabeth City, 27909 North Carolina, United States

Monday’s late afternoon thunderstorm knocked out power to several communities in southern Pasquotank and Perquimans counties served by Dominion Power as well as customers of the city of Elizabeth City. As of Tuesday morning, power had been restored in the Dances Bay subdivision by 7 a.m. after being out since Monday afternoon. Approximately 70 customers had been affected. As early as 4:30 p.m. Monday, stoplights along W. Ehringhaus and Road streets were seen without power during Monday’s rain storm on Elizabeth City. Homes off Riverside Avenue in the Williams Circle area, too, were without power. On Halstead Boulevard, the State Employees Credit Union was without power. Several stoplights along Hughes Boulevard heading north also were down, and power seemed to be out as far north on Road Street as The Pines.
