Tuesday night’s storms swept across northern Illinois and made a mess in Des Plaines, as downed tree limbs and electrical wires cut power to entire neighborhoods just north of O’Hare Airport, a Journal & Topics reporter noted. Large portions of Des Plaines were without power around 11:00 p.m. As of 2:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 28 ComEd’s outage map showed over 11,000 customers in the Des Plaines/Mount Prospect without power.
