Pfizer Covid vaccine 2nd dose, Kansas City, MO, USA
May 17, 2021 1:01 AM
Kansas City, Missouri, United States
1st dose I had very mild nausea, a slight headache and some swelling at the injection site. This 2nd dose has caused the same symptoms, but this time, I have swelling under my arm, in the lymph node. More pain on my entire upper right side/neck.

“Felt fine after other than sore arm which is lingering now on its 5th day, tingling in the left ear (same side of body as the shot) and neck soreness. The neck could be due to lifting a heavy kayak on day 3 after shot. Still not sure if related to shot or to pulled muscle. Ear tingling noticed on fi... rst day and still is there very intermittently. Ever so slight headache and fatigue on day 4. Still monitoring minor symptons. ”

“I’m female 125lbs and in my 30’s. Approx 40 hours after 1st dose, I just felt weird… difficult to describe how I felt since never felt this way before. I think maybe it was chills…? But it was more like all my senses got super heightened. Sight, sound, touch all became what felt like a heightened s... ensation. Started feeling a sore throat come on as well, but once I fell asleep that night… I woke up feeling fine. This same experience happened after my second dose also. Same timing and everything, minus the feeling of a soar throat coming on.
My arm was slightly soar, but I rubbed it regularly and moved my arm frequently after each dose, which I felt helped.
All in all… it was not terrible and the weird feeling didn’t seem to last very long. To me, it was better than being sick for several days or even weeks if I had happen to catch COVID. ”

“I took the AstraZeneca vaccine on 03/05/2021. I didn't have any reaction the first day. In the second, I had severe nausea and threw up a lot in the morning. I took plasil. In the late afternoon of the third day, having spent a few hours reading in a hammock, with legs raised, I noticed strong edema... on my right foot. I'm using daflon flex, prescribed by vascular. Today, 08/06/2021, I remain with edema, q suffered slight reduction. I took the vaccine with a 15-day clexane protocol in a preventive dose because I have genetic thrombophilia. ”

“ITEM 1: March 20th. Union stewards met with Directors (CNO designee). Reviewed multiple concerns and one was a request they fit test all RNs for N95s. Nurses were not being fit-tested for N95's. They said they had no intentions and were only doing this for doctors. ITEM 2: On March 21st, the Persona... l Protective Equipment warehouse was created on the first floor, in 1N. PPE had been removed from areas such as 3N, Medical Care and was only available on the first floor. Nurses were emailed on March 30 about having a PPE warehouse. The Process started on March 30th: Upon receiving patient assignments for the day, the CNC/charge nurse or supervisor will pick up the necessary PPE for each staff member in 1 North. At the end of the shift, the CNC/charge nurse will bag and return the N95 masks, face shields and goggles to 1 North. Level 1 and Level 3 masks should be discarded at the end of each shift. ITEM 3: On March 22/23: A nurse on the 4th Floor, 4 N/C, Cardiac Telemetry Unit, received a Covid infected patient on the night shift of 3/22/20 from the ED. She voiced her concerns to the charge RN that the patient had signs and symptom of Covid-19. There was no PPE to use on their unit. ITEM 4: March 24th, the Research Psychiatric Center, RPC, RN's do not have PPE in their center. It is housed in another building at RMS. The RN's do not have readily available access to PPE. ITEM 5: March 24th, RN's on 4 N/C are lacking the use of N95 masks and instead are using level 3 surgical masks. There have been complaints on how they were to cluster the covid or potential covids together and RNs would be assigned to only covids or non covids. If they had the covids/potential covids, they got 1 mask and 1 gown for the shift. The shifts are 12 hours. ITEM 6: March 28 or March 29th, A nurse in the float pool was floated to 4W, PCU. The nurse was assigned to a potential covid patients. This is a covid cohort unit, one came back positive on this shift. The nurses N95 broke. The nurse tried to get a PAPR and was denied use. Nurse was told to use a surgical 3 and goggles. ITEM 7: March 24, and March 30th, A nurse on 4W, PCU, was caring for potential covids. The doctors kept telling the nurse to be careful, they knew they had covid. The unit manager was asked for an N95. The nurse was told if I give you one, I have to give one to everyone. By Friday, the test showed they were positive covids. March 30th, the director took the PAPR away from the nurse when the nurse had 2 covid aerosolized patients. ITEM 8: There were 4 covid positives on the 4N & 4C so far on the hospitals OSHA 300 log, all on this unit. ITEM 9: Multiple RNs have been out sick with covid like symptoms in March and April on multiple units. Tests don't always come back positive and so they are not logged on the OSHA 300 log. ITEM 10: 4N/C units are sister floating cluster units with 4W PCU and the ICUS, the RNs float if staff is needed. The covid cohort units are 4W PCU and MICU, but possible covid patients are allowed to be anywhere. Location: Research Medical Center (RMC) and the Research Psychiatric Center (RPC)
