Safety Report: Ordered clothing and received a ring, Metcalf Ave, Fresh Meadows, NY, USA

10 months ago reported by user-fbqq5877

Ordered clothing and received a ring, Metcalf Ave, Fresh Meadows, NY, USA

Metcalf Avenue, New York, United States

Ordered clothing through a website piggybacked off of a site from Facebook and received a ring instead of my order, claimcy.com I placed an order through this website after I had placed a similar order with a reputible company. They advertised too good to be true deals which should have been a red flag. I placed the order on November 20, 2023 and was given a tracking number. A few weeks had gone by without receiving my package. When I tracked the order it said it was returned to sender (another red flag).

I contacted them at the email provided and they replied (no name to the email just Customer Service Rep and also their grammar was on point) and reassured me my package was still being delievered and it was an error on the carriers part. I received a package in my mailbox several days later (it was sent to me on December 12th from New York, which I found strange since they claimed to be out of Los Angeles aka CHINA!!!) and it was not what I had ordered but a cheap ring claiming to be GRA Moissanite. The ring came with what seemed to be legitimate apprasial and a card wtih a code to scan to register (which I scanned but did not register or add any personal information. It appeared to be legit, these scams are becoming very llifelike). I reached back out to the company telling them I did not get what I ordered and they sent the following message to me:

I have not replied and refuse to send any pictures or follow instructions. I googled the company which I should have done before ordering, I know better! And found out this is definitely a scam and see others have experienced the same. I believe it is a brushing scam. (if you google claimcy.com you will find many articles calling them out as a scam.)

I reported this to the Federat Trade Commission and my credit card company and I believe they are sending me a refund (haven't gotten it yet but was told I would be). Also I put a temporary freeze on my credit reports and requested a new credit card# for safety precautions.

The website is clamicy.com (was given a legit tracking number)

Shipped from: Second Brother, 166-10 Metcalf Ave., Flushing NY 11365

Same just happened to me from an order I immediately “cancelled” from claimcy.com Thoroughly relieved this is part of the “scam” and not an ex 😂

The same just happened to me!!! I thought I was ordering Judy Blue jeans from the actual website. I never received a confirmation from them after placing my order so the next day I reached out to the actual company that I thought I was ordering the clothes from and the gal felt horrible and said there wasn’t any record of my order. Told me that ppl are stealing their site info and scamming ppl terribly….told me to get with my credit card company and I so I did and they took care of it. Scary shit honestly bc if you google the address the ring came from, it’s a house. I hate that someone has my home address that is a scammer. Gives me the creeps!!

I did the same! Judy Blue pants and shorts! I thought I was ordering from MOCO Boutique. Id ordered from them before, so I thought it was legit! $100 worth! I had already disputed the charge with my back after weeks of not receiving my order and the fact that it was coming from China was a dead giveaway! I got my money back and then today I got the damn ring!

T
user-twxqq637

Me too! This sucks.

J
user-jxckd818

Same here! I figured that's what it was because I never received the clothes that I ordered. What a damn shame! Never doing that again?

F
user-frmb9754

I just got the same thing! I thought I was ordering Judy Blue and today a ring came! How did you dispute with your bank?

Z
user-zqymv692

I was scammed by a sight that had no noticeable mistakes in wording or graphics! MACY’S, and things that I had actually ordered from Macy’s prior were on special so that was linking it to an interest that I already had and had already ordered since this was going to be used for interior design work I thought I would order some of these items on special, when a tracking number did not come and I inquired the company said that it takes quite a while to generate a tracking number, which is ridiculous after nine days, Then ARE YOU READY?! I inquired again and they sent a photograph, The photograph was of a box with a label on it and it was a small box so we noticed that it’s not big enough to put linens in a box that small, But I magnified it and looked at the label…. IT WAS ADDRESSED TO “FEMALE DOG”! Of coarse S C A M M E D‼️ Not a good feeling for me or anyone… I’d like to point out that this particular site had duplicated MACY’S so well, Which is infuriating Macy’s when I contacted them! I heard from three separate people at Macy’s! Again because they were sending specific items that I had already purchased directly from Macy’s it caught me off guard and it seems legitimate even more so because of those particular items so they must have stolen my information to be so accurate!!! Macy’s is looking into it also of course I called my bank canceled my card immediately!!! The fraud department of my bank is doing the dispute and that can take up to 90 days! 🔖IF ANYONE IS READING THIS, THIS IS MY SUGGESTIONS AND THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: “AD’S ARE GOING TO POP UP ALL OVER THE PLACE, THERE IS NOT ENOUGH POLICING ON THE WORLD WIDE WEB TO STOP THE CRIMINALS⚠️THAT USED TO CLIMBED IN TO WINDOWS TO STEAL IN THE PASTED BUT NOW ON WORLD WIDE WEB THEY DO NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT OWNERS SHOOTING OR HAVING THEM ARRESTED! SO CYBER CRIMES ARE FAR MORE LUCRATIVE AND SAFE FOR BLOODY BASTARD CRIMINALS, THINK ABOUT IT, IF THEY ONLY GOT AWAY WITH .50 CENTS OR $1.00 X 500,000 people= 1/2 Million in profit and so forth! THERE ARE SCAMMERS THAT ARE EASLIY NOW MULTIMILLIONAIRES! (Don’t let greed set in or sinister Ideas, just saying! ; ) They are caught eventually, and Cyber crime tracing is constantly going on, it is sourced in the States of America but larger amounts from foreign Countries makes it harder to track in time before they change their information consistently or change locations, so scammers on the move! Because they can afford to leave travel anywhere they want to, especially being multimillionaires living off just a tiny bit BUT OFF MILLIONS OF PEOPLE! They could even get a few pennies out of individual accounts but it’s not so noticeable to people and again it could be multi millions of people that are doing it to it all adds up‼️ ⚠️FOR YOU ASURED SAFETY! DO NOT BE TEMPTED BY ADS! CHANGE YOU THINKING CHANGE HOW YOU RESPOND TO TEMPTATION! IF YOU SEE A SALE OR AD AND IT LOOKS LEGITIMATE! CONTACT THE DIRECT COMPANY REAL COMPANY (separate from the ad!) ASK THE REAL COMPANY ARE THEY HAVING A SALE, AND WHAT (letter by letter IS THE LINK TO THE REAL COMPANY AND REAL SALE!) IF IT DOES NOT MATCH WHAT YOU SEE THEN DO NOT CLICK ON IT! CRIMINALS WILL HATE IT IF YOU ARE THAT PRECISE AHEAD IF TIME BECAUSE THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO HOOK YOU!!!! TAKE THE EXTRA FEW MINUTES TO BLOCK THESE BLOODY BASTARDS FROM MAKING YOU A VICTIM EVER AGAIN! EMPOWER YOURSELF TO BE YOUR OWN POLICE (but report it to the FBI Cyber Crime division, give them every thing you see in the ad site! AND YOU WILL HELP SHUT THEM DOWN FASTER, FEEL GOOD KNOWING YOU HELPED OUT FELLOW CITIZEN BROTHERS AND SISTERS OF THE WORLD! STAY SHARP, Don’t shop too much, really think it out if you absolutely have to have it or save your money for more important things! GRACE, PEACE TO ALL! AV🕊

I also got a ring I did not order. I'm thinking it might be related to a scam Facebook ad. Around Black Friday I tried ordering Judy Blue jeans through a Facebook ad. When I received confirmation of my order it was from a website that didn't match where I thought I ordered from. I immediately contacted them telling them to cancel my order and refund. I did get the refund. I also immediately cancelled the card used for the transaction. I'm hopeful cancelling the card prevents any further charges associated with this. I've seen another post on this recommending not to scan the QR code on the enclosed card as it may take you to a site to try and capture more information.

The same thing happened to me. I placed my order with womanimpression who appeared to be a fashion nova vendor. I emailed them in regards to not receiving my package and it’s been over a month. They gave me a fake tracking number that had Chinese info. I just received a ring in the mail with certification cards. This is horrible to do to hard working people, smh! I wanted the clothes and shoes I ordered.

This is exactly what happened to me! Now I know why I received this ring! I’m so upset because I’ve been paranoid for the last couple of days wondering who sent a ring in the mail that knows my address! I ordered jeans from the same company that advertised as Fashionova! I want my money back! I’m disputing the charges with my bank.
