Yesterday I received my first shot of Moderna at 1pm. About 15-20 minutes later I felt extremely nauseated. I did eat oat cereal a few hours before getting vaccinated so I didn’t have a completely empty stomach.*7 hours later I had a bad headache, felt fatigued and started having bad body aches, and was super sleepy so I took a nap. By the 10th hour I had a low grade fever and the body aches continued.
*Next day which is today, I woke up feeling awful but I forced myself to get up and make it to my 8am cleaning at the dentist. When I got home I was in so much pain, it hurt to close my eyes and my tears felt like burning water, my insides felt like they were burning too. I finally decided enough was enough so I took some Tylenol which definitely helped. I took a nap and woke up feeling awful again so I took more Tylenol 5 hours after my first dose. It eventually wore off and I just felt all my symptoms return. I tried to eat a little and drink water and eventually took more Tylenol. The injection site is swollen and bruised and still hurts.
I really hope tomorrow is easier on me. My sister in law who actually had covid back in September got the vaccine same day as me and had no symptoms. The only thing she felt was pain at the injection site.
I guess everyone really is different or maybe she had no symptoms because her body already fought off Covid.
Although this absolutely sucks, I still plan on getting the second dose to keep me safe.
