Regulatory Report
800 East Chicago Street, Coldwater, 49036 Michigan, United States
1. The working environment is unsafe while working at the front door entrance; i.e., making sure people are wearing a mask, assuring that people are going in one entrance and exiting out the proper exit , assuring social distancing, maintaining a count of people, disinfecting carts, and dealing with public harassment, being threatened, hostile confrontations and violence where customers have been injured by other customers. All of these responsibilities are put on employees with no special training. Often there is no radio to call for help and no management help. The establishment's security is two employees each dubbed a "health ambassador" (tag) wearing a black polo shirt . All this amounts to are regular employees with a black shirt and new name tag. On Friday July 17 around 8:15pm a customer was being assaulted by another and there was no way for employees on the scene to call for help and management was slow in responding to the situation. If it wasn't for good Samaritans, the situation could have been worse. 2. The speakers at the doors are broken and the employees working the doors cannot hear anything over the PA; recently there was a tornado and no one at the doors were aware because the broken speakers were broken. 3. Managers are not sure if security cameras even work. 4. The chemicals used to disinfect the carts are labeled hazardous to human and animals. 5. Customers bring in many animals; i.e., big dogs, little dogs, puppies, cats and kittens and put them in their carts or carry them and shop. Employees are concerned about customers and especially the grocery section.Alleged Hazards: 1, Employees Exposed: 1
