Regulatory Report

3515 Cleveland Avenue, Columbus, 43224 Ohio, United States

The employer has not taken the appropriate steps to protect employees from SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. There have been three cases at the workplace among employees that work together. Findings: The employer has appropriate policies in place for cleaning, facial coverings, and hand hygiene and encouraged maintaining a 6ft social distancing. The inspection of the worksite revealed that employees working at a cash register did not have physical barriers such as a Plexiglas shield separating them from customers. The employees were also unable to maintain a six foot separation between them when performing activities that required both employees to be present. On May 13, 2021, the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced individuals who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 no longer need to wear a face mask indoors or practice social distancing, "except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance." At the time of the inspection, face-coverings were no longer mandated to be used by the State of Ohio although the employer still required employees to wear them. HAZARD ALERT LETTER (HAL) ISSUED.
