A child in the Canyon classroom tested positive for COVID-19. No staff members or parents were informed until arriving at the center the following day. There was no text or calls, or anything in writing as far as I last knew. Canyon students were sent home but siblings of Canyon students were still allowed to attend school. The two neighboring classrooms, Apple Grove and Metro, which spend several hours of the day combined together, were also open and students were allowed to attend class. The playground which is used by all students was open for use without being cleaned first. The two Canyon lead teachers were still at work, as well as other staff members who had directly worked with this child. One of the Canyon teachers, PII, was not vaccinated, and she was eventually sent home but not until she had already been at work for two hours working in various parts of the building. The second teacher, PII, who was vaccinated was still at work when I walked out. A Costco order arrived and PII helped put away all the items, meaning she touched and handled supplies which the entire building uses. The Canyon classroom also only has walls halfway tall, and the kitchen is adjacent to that room. Meaning the kitchen and the Canyon classroom are in one large space sharing the same air. That kitchen is where food for the entire center is prepared. I have heard that parents were told that our staff is fully vaccinated, which is not true. I have also heard that parents of Apple Grove and Metro were told that the classrooms don't spend any time together, which is also not true.Source: Osha.gov | Receipt Date: 2021-04-09
