1) The employer is not implementing precautions to protect employees from contracting and spreading the Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the workplace (Washington & Lee High school): a) Frequently touched surfaces (i.e., door handles, cafeteria, teacher's lounge, office, etc.) are not regularly cleaned and disinfected. b) Administrative and work practice controls are not in place to prescreen or survey employees prior to the commencement of work. This is inclusive of, but not limited to, employees that work in the cafeteria, loading dock, and bus transportation areas. c) The employer has failed to conduct a proper COVID exposure risk assessment for employees such as, but not limited to, teachers, bus drivers, cafeteria workers, administration, etc. d) Employees are not provided an adequate supply of personal protective equipment (PPE) (i.e., gloves, masks, shields, etc.) for interacting with students and public when providing and transporting meals. e) Employees (i.e. cafeteria workers, bus drivers, etc.) have not received adequate training regarding COVID-19 in the workplace and proper PPE use. f) Employees known or suspected to be infected with COVID-19 are allowed to report to and remain at work. g) The employer has failed to report COVID positive employees to the Virginia Department of Labor in accordance with §16VAC25-220. 2) The employer has failed to report employee hospitalization(s) and death(s) that result from a workplace incident/exposure to the Virginia Department of Labor in accordance with §1904.39.
