Regulatory Report

235 North Leroy Street, Fenton, 48430 Michigan, United States

1. One employee worked Tue. July 7th 2020. She received a positive covid test Wednesday. She had been tested prior to coming in to work. They doubted the results and they were retested and confirmed positive the same day. The manager closed the shop for cleaning and shared on Facebook that it was a "possible" infection, when in fact was twice confirmed. Then she contacted those exposed (3-4 employees) to the covid positive person, as they worked together for a shift in a very tight and impossible to socially distance area. She instructed the exposed employee to get tested immediately and is encouraging them to get rapid testing. She wants to be able to add exposed employees to the schedule asap. 2. Management is NOT recommending 14 day quarantine or testing at a reasonable time-frame so that the virus could be detected. They apply a lot of pressure to the exposed employees to return to work. Management is informing staff that the virus is only contagious for 48 hours. They are pressuring testing in less than 48 hours from exposure. Management informed employees that because they wear masks it is safe to come to work sooner than 14 days. 3. The owner of Biggby currently has all three of the exposed people on the schedule for the week of July 13. 4. The Genesee County Health Department indicated that these exposed people should not be working. The owner said that they were cleared to work by the health department, the health department asserts that have issued no such clearance (as of July 13th 2020).
