The employer did not provide effective training and instruction to employees on the introduction of new engineering or work practice controls affecting the employee's occupational exposure or control measures as recommended by the CDC including for the extended use and re-use of disposable respirators on: The risks of Extended Use and Re-use of disposable respirators including the limitations on their use for extended periods and the limits on the number of times the difference types of disposable respirators can be reused; and the administrative and engineering controls to limit potential contamination of N-95 respirator surfaces during extended use and re-use of disposable respirators including: Strict adherence to hand hygiene practices, and Proper donning and doffing techniques to limit contamination to respirator surfaces Proper inspection, storage and disposal of respirators used by HCP on the job during extended use and re-use of respirators.
