I work at Bonfield Grade School as a paraprofessional in Herscher Community Unit School District #2. Starting last week, a child in the classroom that I work in was told to quarantine for two weeks because their mother tested positive for COVID-19. Early this week, another child from my classroom was sent home to quarantine because their parent tested positive. On Thursday, we were told about a third child in our class who had a parent that tested positive and is now on quarantine. This particular child was at school on Monday. As of today, 10/30, an entire class was sent home to quarantine because of a positive case in the classroom, EXCEPT the para professionals. Those para professionals were expected to continue to come to school and work the after school program like they normally do. This is putting our entire staff and students at risk of exposure. There has been no formal notifications to staff regarding positive cases, and specifically, none about the direct contact I¿ve had with COVID in my own classroom.Source: Osha.gov | Receipt Date: 2020-10-30
