BISSELL Homecare Inc. has issued a recall for its Steam Shot OmniReach and Omni steam cleaners due to a risk of serious burn hazards. The attachments on these products can detach unexpectedly, expelling hot water or steam. The affected units were sold across the United States and Canada from October 2024 to March 2026 at Target, Walmart, and other retailers, as well as online.AFFECTED PRODUCTS
PRODUCT: Steam Shot OmniReach and Steam Shot Omni Handheld Steam Cleaners
- Affected model numbers: 4155, 4155L, 4155W, 4155G, 4155D, 4155J, 4155Y, 4155P, 4171, 4171L, 4171W, 4171F
- Sold in multiple colors, including green, gray, white, blue, and dark blue
- Includes various attachments such as nozzle, brushes, scraping tool, concentrator tool, extension hose, fabric steamer, and steam squeegee
- Units: About 1.7 million (plus ~96,000 in Canada)
- Manufactured in China
- Imported by BISSELL Homecare Inc.
The issue was identified following 206 reports of hot water or steam escaping, including 161 burn injuries. The recall was announced on April 9, 2026.
