Recall notice

Pura 4 Smart Home Fragrance Diffusers recalled due to Safety Issue, United States

5 months ago source cpsc.gov

United States

Pura Scents has issued a recall for the detachable covers of its Pura 4 Smart Home Fragrance Diffusers due to a magnet ingestion hazard. The products were sold online and in stores across the United States and Canada.

HAZARD:
The magnets embedded in the inner cover may come loose, creating a risk for children if swallowed. Ingested high-powered magnets can attract one another or nearby metal objects inside the digestive tract, potentially leading to severe injuries such as intestinal blockages, twisting, tears, infections, blood poisoning, or even fatal outcomes.

AFFECTED PRODUCT:
- Pura 4 Smart Home Fragrance Diffusers
- With serial numbers ranging from JX230000001 to JX230801425 and JX240000001 to JX240049959.
- The serial number is located on the rear label above the metal prongs.
- Approximately 851,400 units are recalled in the U.S., with an additional 1,100 sold in Canada.
- The diffusers measure about 4 inches wide and long.
- The diffuser’s detachable cover contains five magnets (not three): three small magnets and two larger magnets.

The issue was identified after three reports of magnets detaching from the covers, though no injuries have been reported. The recall was initiated on July 24, 2025, and is classified as a Fast Track Recall.

If you or a loved one is harmed or experiencing any symptoms, it is important to report it. Reporting can help to detect & resolve outbreaks early and prevent others from being harmed, and enables better surveillance. If symptoms persist, seek medical care.
