MaxKare Electric Blankets recalled due to Burn and Fire Hazards, United States

Shenzhen Yumo Commerce and Trade Corporation has issued a recall for MaxKare Electric Blankets due to risks of overheating and potential fire hazards. These blankets were sold exclusively on Walmart.com from June 2021 to November 2024 in the United States. The issue was identified following 34 reports of overheating, including three burn injuries and two fires. The recall was initiated on June 18, 2025, and is classified as a safety recall.

AFFECTED PRODUCTS:
- MaxKare Electric Blankets with six heating levels and a nine-hour auto-off function.
- Three sizes: 62 inches by 84 inches (twin), 72 inches by 84 inches (full), and 84 inches by 90 inches (queen).
- With model numbers HB18A-7284-1, HB18A-8490-2, and HB18A-6284-1.
- Available in brown and gray, the blankets come in twin, full, and queen sizes.
- The brand name, MaxKare, and the model numbers are on the tag attached to the blanket.
- Approximately 8,560 units are included in the recall.
