KidKraft, Inc. has issued a recall for its Farm to Table Model Play Kitchen due to a strangulation hazard. The product was distributed in Canada and the United States. The recall follows an incident in the U.S. where a child’s clothing became entangled on the product's hooks, resulting in a fatality.WHY IS BEING RECALLED?
If small children climb onto the countertop or squeeze through the gap behind the play kitchen, their clothes may become entangled in the plastic or metal hooks designed to hang toy kitchen items like pots and pans, creating a risk of strangulation.
AFFECTED PRODUCT:
- The KidKraft Farm to Table Model Play Kitchen
- Which is black and light gray with wood-like countertops.
- The model number is 53411
- The model number can be found on a sticker on the back of the play kitchen.
- The UPC codes are 706943534113, 706943010228, and 706943207277.
- The UPC code is located on the product's outer packaging/box.
- It features a wooden dowel with metal or plastic hooks attached to it, which hold toy kitchen accessories such as play pots and pans
The issue was identified after a report of a child's clothing getting caught on the hooks. The recall was initiated on July 31, 2025, and is classified as a consumer product recall.
