Frigidaire-brand Minifridges recalled due to Safety Issues, United States

Curtis International has announced a recall of Frigidaire-brand minifridges due to potential fire and burn hazards. The recall affects units sold nationwide in the United States at Walmart and online at Walmart and Amazon from January 2020 through December 2023. Approximately 634,000 units are affected.AFFECTED PRODUCT:
- Curtis International minifridges
- These minifridges were available in 6- and 9-can sizes and various colors (including black, blue, green, white, yellow, red, pink, and silver).
- “Frigidaire” is printed on the front of the units.
- The model and serial numbers are on a label on the back of the minifridge.
- Recalled minifridges include only the serial numbers identified as:
MODEL: EFMIS137 /Between A2001 to A2312
MODEL: EFMIS149 / Between A2001 to A2308
MODEL: EFMIS175 / Between A2001 to A2310
MODEL: EFMIS129 / Between A2001 to A2308 (if the model number is “EFMIS129-B” or EFMIS129-C”, it is not included in this recall).
The issue was identified after 26 reports of the minifridges smoking and catching fire, resulting in over $700,000 in property damage. The recall was initiated on July 24, 2025, and is classified as a Class I recall.
