Empower Brands has issued a recall for Remington hair dryers, model number D3190DCDN, due to the absence of an immersion protection device, posing a risk of electrocution or shock. The affected products were sold online through Walmart Marketplace, Target Marketplace, and Amazon from March 2024 to June 2025 in the United States. Around 56,300 units are included in this recall.HAZARD: The handheld hair dryers lack an immersion protection device, which presents a substantial product hazard to consumers, posing the risk of death or serious injury from electrocution or shock if the hair dryers fall into water while plugged in.

- Empower Brands’ Hair Dryers
- Model number D3190DCDN
- Purple with black accents
- Featuring three black operating buttons on the handle.
- “Remington” is written in white text on the side of the hair dryer.
- The product measures approximately 8.5 inches long, 11.6 inches high, and 3.6 inches wide, weighing about 1.5 pounds.
The issue was identified by the company, and no incidents or injuries have been reported. The recall was initiated on August 14, 2025, and is classified as a Fast Track Recall. The hair dryers were manufactured in China and imported by Spectrum Brands Inc. for Empower Brands, LLC.
