The Office for Product Safety and Standards has announced a recall of the Charger Base for Electric Toothbrush, model HYC3757A, sold via TikTok. The recall is due to a serious fire risk caused by loose internal connections and an incorrect fuse. The product was distributed online through TikTok in the UK.The recalled product is:
- A white charging base for electric toothbrushes
- Identified by the barcode 911014169366
- Additional identifier C1049697-1001533.
- Model: HYC3757A (listing states 3757)
- It originates from China.
- The plug is incorrectly marked 13A but fitted with a 3A fuse, which does not comply with safety regulations.
The charger does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 and the Plugs and Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994.
The issue was discovered by Local Authority Trading Standards, prompting a recall on July 2, 2025. The recall is classified as serious, and the product listing has been removed from TikTok.
