Brompton, a renowned bicycle manufacturer, has issued a recall for its T-Line folding bikes due to a potential crash hazard. The issue lies in the handlebar support and fork, which can become misaligned under certain conditions. Bikes manufactured from June 21, 2024, onwards have had this increased torque value applied and are not affected by the recall. The recall affects:
- All Brompton T-Line bikes produced before June 21, 2024.
- These bikes can be identified by a serial number of up to 2406070001.
If your bike is affected, it will require a repair to increase the torque to 7Nm on the four steerer clamp hinge bolts. This can be performed for free through your local Brompton dealer, or at home, using a calibrated torque wrench.
In case you experience harm from this product, it is important to report it. It can help to detect & resolve issues and prevent others from being harmed, and it enables better surveillance.
