AstroAI has issued a recall for its 4-Liter/6-Can minifridges due to potential fire and burn hazards. The recall affects units sold online at Amazon.com and Astroai.com from June 2019 through June 2022. The issue was identified following reports of the minifridges smoking, burning, or catching fire, with two incidents resulting in significant property damage. The recall was initiated on June 18, 2025. The CPSC has received over 70 incident reports involving mini fridges overheating, emitting smoke, catching fire, or melting. In two of these cases, the fires caused significant property damage, with combined losses exceeding $360,000.AFFECTED PRODUCT:
- 4 Liter/6 Can Minifridges
- Model number “LY0204A”
- The nine-digit serial number of the affected units starts with “S/N”
- Have serial numbers starting with 19, 20, 21, 2201, 2202, or 2203.
- The serial number is located on either the bottom or the middle-right portion of the label.
- Approximately 249,100 units are affected.
- The minifridges come in various colors
- Measure 9.45 inches in diameter, 6.9 inches wide, and 10 inches high.
- The model and serial numbers are found on a label on the back of the minifridge.
