Medical King has issued a recall for its Adult Portable Bed Rails due to entrapment and asphyxia hazards. When the recalled bed rails are attached to an adult’s bed, users can become entrapped within the bed rail or between the bed rail and the side of the mattress. The products were sold exclusively on Amazon.com and possibly on Amazon.ca. As of December 6, 2024, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.The recall involves:
- Three models of Medical King Bed Assist Rail adult portable bed rails.
- The affected products are:
The Bed Assist Rail with Adjustable Heights (model numbers 7007 and 7057)
The Bed Assist Rail without Legs (model number 7037).
- The company reported that 2,842 units of the affected products were sold in Canada
- The products were sold from January 2020 to March 2024.
Consumers are advised to not use the products and to return them to where they purchased it.
