Safety Report: Health Advisory: River Raisin Contamination Warning Issued, Adrian, MI, USA

4 months ago source 13abc.com

Outbreak

Adrian, 49221 Michigan, United States

The Lenawee County Health Department (LCHD) issued a precautionary advisory to residents of Lenawee County, urging them to refrain from contact with the River Raisin. The warning encompasses the stretch of the River Raisin starting at the South Branch near Race Street in the City of Adrian, extending through the Village of Deerfield.

The advisory follows concerns regarding contamination resulting from discharges from the City of Adrian sewage collection and treatment system into the River Raisin.

Residents are advised to abstain from any contact with the River Raisin within the specified area until further notice. The advisory will remain in effect until comprehensive water testing confirms that the river water quality is no longer compromised by the sewage discharge.

Lenawee County residents are encouraged to stay updated on further developments regarding the advisory and adhere to the precautionary measures outlined by the health department.
