Six employees were in a small room, the trainer was not wearing a mask at most times when instructing us. Two other trainees, one of them coughing and the other sometimes sneezing, were also not correctly wearing masks (often having them only covering their chins or mouths). … See More
When I informed my trainer of my concerns over Covid-19, the only option given to me was to move to a different computer a few feet further away from other people. My trainer made no effort to get the other trainees to correctly wear masks until after I expressed my concerns to her twice. During my first nightshift from 9pm to 6am when the store is closed, there were numerous safety concerns. My supervisor and at least 6 other employees were not wearing masks when starting their shifts as we all gathered in the breakroom. We all used a shared computer to sign in and out of our shifts with no option to disinfect it between uses. I was shown my work assignment by my supervisor who walked me around the store, often being within a few feet of me, while he was not wearing a mask. When we arrived in the receiving section of the store where we were to unload the night's truck, I saw all other employees (4 of them at the time, and more on their way), not wearing masks. I brought up my concerns regarding covid-19 to my supervisor, and he informed me that masks made employees feel faint while unloading the truck, and that they attempted social distancing while unloading instead. I refused to unload the truck without wearing masks. During the rest of my shift, I noted groups of 2 to 4 employees sometimes working and talking within a couple feet of each other without wearing masks. Break and mealtimes were also not staggered. My supervisor also informed me, while unmasked, that he had instructed other employees to make sure they wear their masks only around me due to my concerns, as if not wearing them around other people than me was somehow acceptable. During the rest of my shift, at least 6 other employees were within a few feet of me not wearing masks while they grabbed shared, uncleaned store phones in the training room next to me as / worked on a computer.
