Power has been restored to most customers in the Miami Valley after severe storms hit the area Monday afternoon. At the height of the outages nearly 5,000 people did not have power, according to AES, Duke and Ohio Edison outage maps.

Strong thunderstorms moved through the area leaving over 2,000 power customers without electricity at the peak. The worst of the outages happened around 7 p.m. in Middletown, leaving 1,979 power customers in the dark.
