A power outage was reported in Boardman and Youngstown Tuesday morning. At 7 a.m., FirstEnergy's power outage map showed 1,522 customers without power in Boardman, and 90 in Youngstown. A damaged fuse has triggered the outage.

Severe storms were hitting the Mahoning Valley again Saturday afternoon, leading to power outages. Boardman was the hardest-hit area in Mahoning County with more than 4,300 outages. Youngstown also has over 4,000 reported outages. Campbell, Coitsville, and Lowellville were almost completely in the dark with more than... See More 97% of customers without power. Struthers, Poland Township, Springfield Township, Beaver Township and Austintown all had more than 1,000 outages. In Trumbull County, more than 5,000 outages were being reported in Howland. Bazetta, Brookfield, Liberty and Hubbard have all reported more than 1,000 outages. Smaller townships like Greene, Gustavus, Hartford, Johnston and Vernon were showing more than 90% of the area without power. Several Columbiana communities were dealing with widespread outages according to FirstEnergy. Butler Township and Salem Township have more than half of customers without power as of 2:00 p.m.

Walmart and other stores in Boardman were temporarily closed Wednesday due to a power outage. According to FirstEnergy, Walmart and Giant Eagle completely lost power, while PetSmart was partially without power. First Energy said the outages were due to equipment issues.
