Nearly half of Harpswell was without power Wednesday morning, Jan. 10, after an overnight storm brought heavy winds and rain to the Maine coast. According to Central Maine Power’s online outage list, about 2,250 power customers in Harpswell were without power as of 9:30 a.m.

Nearly every home and business in Harpswell was without power late Monday afternoon, Dec 18th, as a severe regional storm brought two inches of rain and whipping winds of up to 65 miles per hour to the community.

A storm that passed through Maine delivered an inch of rain and some wind in southern and central Maine. Central Maine Power reported Sunday morning that 1,349 customers were without power, most of those in Harpswell, where 1,275 were without power.
