Customers lost power on Christmas Eve morning in Terre Haute's east side for about an hour after a squirrel was messing with the electric infrastructure. According to Duke Energy's outage map, more than 5,000 customers were affected. Power has been already restored to the area.
Around 750 Duke Energy customers are in the dark in southern Terre Haute. The utility company reports power is out around U.S. 41 south of I-70 going west to around Prairieton Road. It started just after 10.
