Crown Point, Indiana, United States
Updated:
They are providing the option for remote learning to students but not providing this option for teachers. There are no leave options for teachers who do not want to put themselves at risk. The classrooms are already over-crowded. There are classrooms with over 40 students. This makes
it impossible for teachers to enforce social distancing. Teachers are told to socially distance as well as possible and that the desks will be spread out as much as possible, but the desks are already spread out as much as possible. Students will be too close to each other and to the teacher. Teachers are not provided proper PPE. Teachers are only provided cloth masks. Students can take off their masks once they are sitting and facing forward. Teachers are not properly trained to properly mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Teachers are not properly trained to sanitize. The teachers will be exposed to harsh chemicals and are required to clean the classroom. Teachers are expected to supervise the hallways with several students passing between periods. Teachers will be exposed to 150 - 200 students per day. There is not adequate ventilation in the classrooms, there are limited windows and the air conditioning units do not always work. Case numbers are rising but they are returning to school. This is putting students and teachers in danger.

Employees have been exposed to covid-19. In some cases management has said nothing and in others they have told the other employees. The most recent positive test was a grocery bagger. They did notify the workforce and came in and sanitized the store once they closed for
the night, but that was hours after they were notified. In that time hundreds of customers and numerous employees were knowingly exposed. Not only that, the employee that is positive could have been working for days without knowing. They are not notifying any of the customers that have been there during this period of time, just trying to act like it never happened.
