In Santa Cruz County, a reported 17,000 homes and businesses were without power as of 3 p.m. According to the PG&E website, the affected areas are across the county mostly affecting the areas on the east side in the Capitola area and parts of Santa Cruz.
The power went out in Santa Cruz shortly after 9 a.m. and an estimated time for restoration for the 6,403 customers is 12:45 p.m. today. The outage runs from West Cliff Drive up into the Pogonip area.
