Huntsville Utilities (HU) is currently conducting an investigation into the cause of a power outage in Huntsville, Alabama. This outage is impacting more than 1,000 individuals residing in the area.
HU said Thursday afternoon that the outages were impacting customers from Burritt Drive south to Chandler Road. The outages are also affecting power at Cliffs Edge and Asbury Road, Highway 72 south to Holmes Avenue and from Andrew Jackson Way east to Memorial Parkway.
A power outage has been reported in Huntsville Thursday morning. The outage is from Research Park Boulevard West to Jeff Road, and from Plummer Road South to University Drive. According to Huntsville Utilities, about 1,600 customers were impacted by this outage.
According to the Florence Electricity outage map, there are approximately 948 customers without power. Huntsville Utilities is reporting at least 5,000 customers without power. As of 11:30 a.m. Monday, there are approximately 600 customers still without power after Sunday's storms. According to Huntsville Utilities, this number is down from approximately 18,000. Crews continue to work until all service is restored. Huntsville Utilities does not have restoration estimates for specific areas.
