Safety Report: Scooter Ads Targeting Seniors, Florida, USA

I responded to an Ad advertising Portable Scooters with push-button controls for $39.95. It included extra batteries, rain cover, free shipping and several other things. The explanation for the price was that they had bought a lot of them from customs after they had been confiscated. Plausible reasoning. You could only buy one. I bought 3 on different credit cards. One checked out at $69.95, one at $51.45, and one at the agreed upon price of $39.95. They all checked out under different company names. I received only one email for the one at $51.45. It completely itemized my purchase and gave me tracking details. I checked it and there was a package on the way. It seemed to get stuck in China for a month. Finally one day when I looked it said delivered. Nothing was at my door so I checked the mail and low and behold there was a scarf, ugly scarf in the mailbox. Then two months later I saw the same Ad except this time it said QVC close-out. I reported all of mine to the Credit Card Companies and received refunds for all of them. I was so angry at their brazen audacity that I called and made a Police Report. So if you have been scammed by this or any other great deals report it here, to your credit card company (for a refund,) to the police (they will take the information over the phone and give you a Report Number so you can pick up a written report,) and to the FTC. Let's stop these Scammers. Remember if it sounds too good to be true it is.Recent Reports Near Me
